Leaked Samsung Galaxy S11 Renders Point to Massive Camera Upgrade

Leaked Samsung Galaxy S11 Renders Point to Massive Camera Upgrade

Samsung has a consistent release schedule for its flagship phones, and that means the Galaxy S11 launch is probably just a few months away. So, it’s time for the leaks to begin flowing. New renders of the phone have appeared online, showing a smaller hole-punch camera, a new camera array, and improved button placement. If you were hoping Samsung would reverse course after dropping the headphone jack from the Note 10, I have some bad news.

The renders come from OnLeaks, who has released leaks of many flagship phones over the years. These are not official renders, but OnLeaks uses leaked CAD files to create renders of the device. These leaks have always been very accurate, so we have every reason to expect the Galaxy S11 will look very much like this.

The renders show the power and volume buttons are now on the right edge, which is much more common than the left as on the Note 10. There’s still no Bixby button, which won’t upset anyone. However, the headphone jack continues to be absent. You’ll have to make do with Bluetooth or USB-C.

Around back, the Galaxy S11 renders feature a larger camera module with a plethora of sensors. There are at least five cameras of some sort back there, and they are arranged somewhat haphazardly. Still, Samsung has been using the same basic camera setup for the last few generations, and it’s definitely time for an upgrade. We believe one of the new sensors will be a 108MP standard wide-angle camera, along with ultra-wide-angle and telephoto lenses. One of the sensors is reportedly a time-of-flight 3D sensor.

As with last year’s Galaxy S phones, the Galaxy S11 will come in three sizes: 6.3-inch, 6.7-inch, and 6.9-inch. These OLEDs may support adjustable refresh rates as high as 120Hz. Samsung will also make 4G and 5G versions of the phones, but some carriers might only offer 5G for the largest “plus” model.

Samsung could announce the Galaxy S11 as early as February next year. There’s no word on pricing, but it will undoubtedly be high.
