You Can See the Pixel 6 From Every Angle in New Leak

We’re still half a year away from Google’s expected Pixel 6 unveiling, but the leaks are already ramping up. The first renders of the upcoming Pixels appeared last week, courtesy of Jon Prosser. The latest leak looks similar, if perhaps a bit more elegant. The big honkin’ camera visor is here to stay, it would seem.

The new leak comes to us from Steve McFly, better known as Onleaks. The images are not official — McFly makes his renders based on leaked CAD files. So, all his previous leaks have turned out to be very accurate. Prosser’s track record is hit-and-miss, but the similarity of the new renders makes me confident we’re looking at a real Pixel phone.

The Onleaks renders depict the Pixel 6 Pro, which is the larger of two devices Google is expected to release. According to Digit.in, the phone has a 6.67-inch OLED screen with a centered hole-punch camera. The overall body is 163.9 x 75.8 x 8.9 millimeters, making it a bit larger than the Galaxy S21+ and a touch smaller than the S21 Ultra. However, the Pixel’s thickness goes up to 11.5mm if you include the camera visor.

That visor will no doubt be a divisive design feature. The Pro phone has three camera sensors in the visor, a first for Google. We can only guess what those sensors will do (the current leaks on this are unsubstantiated and suspect), but Google is already snapping incredible photos with just one or two cameras on its current Pixel phones. The visor looks a bit flatter and more integral to the design in these renders. It’s possible the last leak beefed up the visor so it would stand out more. It’s still plenty prominent, though.

This render keeps the multi-color look from the last render. There’s a bright orange-red stripe at the top, then the black visor, and a white main body with a color-matched Google logo in the middle. It looks slick and different, but it also jives nicely with the big Material You UI overhaul Google just announced for Android.

The Pixel 6 will be one of the most hotly anticipated releases for the Pixel line — Google barely had a flagship phone last year. The Pixel 5 was smaller and cheaper than the Pixel 4 that preceded it, and it had a less impressive camera setup. The Pixel 6 is a chance for Google to prove it can compete with the Samsungs and Apples of the world. We expect an announcement in October with the launch to follow a week or two later.
