Razer Is Building a Toaster, Possibly With LED Support

Back in 2013, a fan jokingly asked Razer CEO Min-Liang Tan to create a Razer toaster. Tan replied that they’d already made one. This was picked up by Mark Withers, another Razer lover, who started harassing the CEO by beginning for a toaster morning, noon, and night. Withers even created a Facebook page for his campaign. Eventually, Tan agreed to make a Razer toaster if the Facebook page could hit a million likes.
The company stayed in on the joke as the years rolled by. It even released a 2016 April Fool’s joke video with Project Breadwinner, along with the image above, highlighting aspects of its “fauxster” design.
As of today, the page has passed 1,000,000 likes, though apparently several people were willing to get Razer Toaster tattoos and thereby pushed the total effective “Like” count up to one million without actually hitting that number. As a result, Tan has acknowledged their accomplishment and Razer will now build a toaster.

Yes, tattoos. 12 of them. You can see pictures here. Tan acknowledged the accomplishment in a tweet of his own as well:
So this morning, I was having coffee with our Chief Strategy Officer in a crowded coffeeshop and a nice lady walks in with her kids and sits beside me. As I got up to leave, she leaned over and said, "I'm looking forward to the toaster".
What have I done?

So, thanks to the intrepid action of these brave individuals, Razer is now going to actually build a toaster. It will make toast with a Razer logo burned into it. The product will be known as: “A Razer Toaster – For Razer Toaster Lovers. By Razer Toaster Lovers.” I’m wondering if the company might wind up with its own line of specialty products at the cutting edge of copper cookware and LED integration.
We’ve come a long way from the Boomslang, baby. This might be the first kitchen appliance/PC product crossover I’m aware of, but the possibilities seem limitless. Integrated LEDs inside the heating chamber could let you know when your toast was about to be done by slowly changing color from green to red as the timer ran down. There’s got to be something we can stuff into a toaster worth overclocking. Maybe it could integrate an LCD, controller, and Wi-Fi 6 support for local game streaming while making breakfast?
Endless possibilities. Incredible toast.
So it goes.
